Ed Smithies joins MinterEllisonRuddWatts’ Tier 1 real estate team from 2 March 2026, further strengthening the firm’s commitment to delivering exceptional property solutions and client service.

With extensive experience in major capital market transactions, commercial investments, and large scale developments, Ed brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success in the property sector. He is skilled across all aspects of property transactions, including negotiating sale and purchase agreements, leases, development agreements and construction contracts. Ed also regularly supports overseas investors navigating the Overseas Investment Office approval process.

The strategic addition reflects the law firm’s ongoing growth and commitment to providing innovative, commercial legal solutions for clients across the domestic and international property sectors.
